A Message from President Ronald S. Rochon: October 6, 2026

Dear Titan community,

Our community has been shaken by troubling incidents that raised concerns about safety at our university, and I know many of you are carrying that with you into your classrooms, offices, and homes.

As president of Cal State Fullerton, I find these situations deeply disturbing. Let me be clear: any act that threatens, victimizes, or physically harms a member of this community is unacceptable. This is nonnegotiable.

When a member of our community is harmed, Cal State Fullerton strives to share information whenever possible; however, federal and state laws restrict what details may be disclosed to protect the rights of those involved, as well as the integrity of the investigative process.

I also recognize that what has happened here is not the only issue weighing on us. Events across our nation and around the world are affecting people we love and communities we belong to. For many, these are not distant headlines. They are personal. If the world feels chaotic and overwhelming right now, you are not alone in that feeling. I feel it too.

We are all members of this community, and each of us is responsible for one another. If you see or suspect a crime at Cal State Fullerton, report it to campus police by calling (657) 278-2515, or if it is an emergency, dial 911. If someone is hurt or at risk of being harmed, please do not be a bystander. To report misconduct or discrimination, the Office for Civil Rights and Equity offers several reporting options under the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy.

If you are struggling, please reach out. You do not have to carry this by yourself.

Our health and well-being depend on the strength of our connection to one another. I am asking that each of us pour into one another with intentionality, every day, so that every member of our community knows they belong, they are valued, and their safety matters.

Checking in on a classmate, walking with a colleague, or helping someone connect with campus resources can mean more than you know.

As Titans, we do not look away when others are hurting. We help. Please take care of yourselves, and please take care of each other.

Ronald S. Rochon
President
