Dear Titan Community,
It is with deep gratitude that I announce an upcoming leadership transition in the Division of Student Affairs. Dr. David Forgues, interim vice president, has accepted an exciting new opportunity as associate vice president of student services at Mt. San Antonio College in July 2025, pending the approval by its Board of Trustees.
Through his 12.5 years of dedicated service at Cal State Fullerton, Dr. Forgues served Titans in various capacities and profoundly impacted our campus community.
He joined the campus as chief of operations for Student Affairs in 2012 and served in that role until 2017. While serving in this capacity, he managed vital functions including budgeting, human resources, and professional development while building relationships with partners across campus. He played a key role in supporting the Student Success Initiative and driving the division’s strategic plan.
In 2017, Dr. Forgues was appointed vice president for the Division of Human Resources, Diversity, and Inclusion (HRDI), where he prioritized recruitment and retention efforts aimed at building a diverse and talented faculty and staff. He advocated for Cal State Fullerton to serve as the lead California State University institution to adopt the Common Human Resource System (CHRS) Recruiting program and the implementation of the data management system. During his tenure, he also played a pivotal role in the institution’s COVID-19 response.
As interim vice president of Student Affairs, Dr. Forgues played an instrumental role in restoring the Assistant Dean program, advocated for the successful approval of the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Wellness Initiative, and helped drive the Fullerton Forward Strategic Plan.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Forgues and extending our best wishes for continued success in his new role. In recognition of his significant contributions to the campus, a reception will be held in his honor on June 13 from 2-4 pm in the Titan Student Union Pavilions.
Sincerely,
Ronald S. Rochon
President
